New Layout

If you have been in the shop recently you may have had to have a look around to find some of your favourite items as we have updated the shop layout to give a fresh look to coincide with being open for over a year now!

Farmer Gary has made some beautiful display cabinets which give the shop a lovely rustic feel and we have moved many of the displays around to hopefully make it easier for our customers to find what they are looking for :)

Below are a few photos of the new look shop:

Sunshine

Hello,

It's not just us who have been enjoying the recent sunshine - the animals on the farm have also been basking in the lovely weather. It won't be long until we'll be shearing the sheep to keep them cool in the summer months.

The tree that fell in the storm earlier in the year has come in
very useful as a scratching post for the sheep

Some of you may remember the chicks at the Easter Animal Day? Here you can see how much they have grown!

Easter Animal Day

We had a lovely day on our Easter Animal Day on Saturday and wanted to thank everyone who came along and supported us!

Here are a few photographs of the day:

We had lots of visiters eager to see the animals

Many people enjoyed the experience of holding one of the lambs

Farmer Sarah also had fun educating people about the farm

The pigs were happy doing what the do best - eating and sleeping!

Lots of people enjoyed getting the opportunity to sit in a tractor

Easter Animal Day - Saturday 30th March

We are holding an Easter Animal Day on Saturday 30th March where you'll have the opportunity to come and see our lambs, pigs, and Easter chicks (weather depending!).

We also have local falconer Frankie Hunt bringing along a few of his birds of prey for a handling session where you will be able to handle the birds and have your photograph taken with them.

We're hoping the weather cheers up a bit for the Easter weekend and hope to see you for a fun day out :)

New Arrivals on the Farm

Hello,

Whilst the weather may not feel very spring-like at the moment, spring has definitely sprung down on the farm with many new animal arrivals. Lambing season has started with new born lambs popping out left right and centre!

Sometimes when a ewe has more than two lambs she doesn't have enough milk to feed all three (sometimes four or five!) sufficiently. When this happens we have to top up the lambs milk supply using milk formula to make sure the lambs thrive:

We've also had a new calf born in the last couple of days who is doing very well:

We're having a Easter Animal Day on Saturday 30th March where you'll get the chance to meet some of this years lambs and chicks :)

New Products

Hi All,

After a very busy few weeks over Christmas (thank you for all your support!) we've been spending the past few weeks catching up. We have been stocking up the shop with new products including frozen and tinned fish, a new soup range, some devilishly delicious desserts alongside other new treats and essentials.

A very popular addition to our shop has been a selection of breads and cakes from Marshalls Bakery in Pewsey. We have had an unprecedented demand for the Lardy Cakes from Marshalls Bakery and I can personally vouch for how tasty they are!

Down on the farm we have just begun the calving and lambing season. We are hoping to be bringing up some of the young lambs to the shop over the Easter weekend and there may even be a chance to bottle feed any orphan lambs we have. Fingers crossed for some nice Spring weather :)

Take care and hope to see you soon :)

'Cake of the Week' on BBC Rado Wiltshire!

Hi there,

We were pleased to be asked to feature on Sue Davies 'Cake of the Week' on BBC Wiltshire Radio on Tuesday. I had a nice chat with her to explain all about the shop and cafe, and then I disclosed our very popular Banana Loaf Cake recipe (which always seems to go down well in the cafe and the shop).

It was good fun being on the radio, and hopefully some of our regulars might have heard!

Here is the link if you want to have a listen (we're about 30 minutes into the show):
